Food Bank: Help The Storehouse

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Matthew 25:35-40

We are aware of the uncertainty that accompanies crises like this and the ongoing need for the “basics in life” for so many. We are driven by both a love for people and a scriptural command to help others in need. Therefore we are continuing to keep our eyes and ears open to ways in which we can reflect Christ to our neighbours.

On April 7th we invited our community to support The Storehouse, a local food bank, in various practical ways. Thank you to those who responded generously to that plea! The Storehouse serves approximately 40 families per month, including some who have contracted COVID-19 and are housebound. As a church, we’d like to take our efforts to the next level! Here’s how you can get involved:
